Ooh, an introductions thread, I didn't see this earlier.  Grin
Hi everyone! I'm Tosca, from the rainy land of England. I'm a huge fan of music, but I never played any until last year when I decided to spend all my birthday money on a violin. So, the neighbours love me now.  Tongue
I saw DSO last year at MFVF, where they were completely amazing - it was amusing to see the people in the audience who didn't know about them standing agape with rather shell shocked expressions as they played. They were the only band that I can remember who had everyone clamouring for more at the end. Muaha.
Other than DSO, I have a rather pick and mix taste in music, although I am a devoted fan of a certain Finnish soprano (if you hadn't already guessed that from my avatar and signature Tongue)
It's nice to find so many topics about little-known bands in the music section. I'll go and raid through them when I'm done with this post, I think. In that respect, I'm very happy to have found DSO when they released their debut instead of jumping on the bandwagon later. We can boast that we were here at the beginning when they take over the world, as they are so clearly going to!  Cool
Rock on guys!

I've had this account for a couple of years, but I only recently started participating in this forum, since I saw DSO at ProgPower. My real name is Jessica, and I currently live in Chicago, although I'm from Colorado originally. I love female fronted metal, especially of the avant-garde variety (Pin-Up Went Down, Akphaezya, and Stolen Babies are some other favorite bands). I'm a singer myself, and I loved singing along with Annlouice.

Hello everyone. I'm Carolina and i'm 18. I'm from Aracaju - Brazil (a small city in the coast), but now I'm living at Campinas-São Paulo. I'm a student at Unicamp (state University of Campinas) and I'm getting graduate in applied mathematics. I love to read, specially fairy and folk tales, greek mithology and Tolkien's books (I read the several times). I'm gonna start reading something about viking mithology or The Kalevala (soon, I hope). I love music, mainly metal/rock, but I also listen to some classical music and brazilian popular music (Elba Ramalho, Alceu Valença). I started to listen to DSO about one year ago and I really love them, they are amazing! I hope they play in Brazil some day...

"That's all Folks"

PS.: Sorry if there is any english mistake, I'm still learning...

I'm Vinny and I found DSO on accident by searching for a live version of "Diablo Rojo" on a torrent site. The name sounded too interesting to pass up so I found them on myspace and got far more than I expected. Immediately bought the first album and preordered the second. (Ironically this is almost exactly how I found Rodrigo Y Gabriella, the writers of Diablo Rojo.)

I study web marketing and play classical guitar (not well at all.) I usually listen to classic rock and prog, but I'm getting more and more into heavier stuff and concept metal.

I live in New York and am simply waiting for DSO to play anywhere on this continent. There is only one other band I'd rather see live and Freddie Mercury is far too dead for that.

Hi I'm Carrie & I was introduced to DSO through an internet friend. First I liked Dog Fashion Disco & Polkadot Cadaver & he gave me Stolen Babies & DSO as suggestions.
Well I love to read. I don't do much else besides go to school. I'm a sophomore in high school in a teeny town in Virginia (US). I want to be an English major when I grow up.

Hi everyone ) well, it supposed to be my first unswer, but it's not...
So, i'm Irina and i'm from Moscow (sorry for poor english ^^). Right now i'm in kinda extase, 'cause DSO are going to visit us (right after Metallica!!)!

My music at most is still as in my 15. I can name just few bands that have joined my playlist last years. And DSO is one of them. I read annotation in a magazine, listened to some samples and just lost my head!

But if you're interested in something more: i love books, videogames and drawing (so it's not surprisingly that i'm gonna be concept-artist), have just started studying german and lived for 17 eyars in Yakutsk. It's not far from the world coldest point, so -50 in winter is normal )))

well, i guess you spent more than enough time on reading this. Thanks DSO and everyone )

Hi, my name is Julie.
I'm a member since 2008 and I've just noticed that I didn't introduce myself yet, what a shame!
So, I'm 22 years old, I live in Brazil and I'm a fine arts student. And that's what I like most: to study and to learn.
Besides the college, I am currently learning russian language and also to play violin.
As you can see, I should have learnt english first and then tried russian, but no way! I just fell in love with the Кириллица (hope I wrote this correctly... or maybe I just have to learn russian first and then start posting Embarrassed )

I am now dreaming of me watching DSO at Russia  *-*
nothing but a dream, unfortunately.

No money  Undecided
Even if I got it I wouldn't go this year, because I don't want to stay only for DSO's concert so I must finnish all courses first.

Most of people just don't know about your country. When I say I'm learning your language they say "Vodka!!!"
And I guess that "capitalism thing" turned most of countries to think russian is bad, except for those people who have chances to study, unfortunately they're not many here where I live.

I would like to hear what doed the foreigners think about my country. Can you tell me what you think, please?

Oh well, you won't be surprised: Carnivale! and The Big Jesus thanks to some TV series. seems like men think that in Brazil there are only hot nearly nude girls and women dream about hotguys XD As for me: still Carnivale (don't kick me! ^^), than animals. I'm not good in political history, but love zoological books ) So Brazilian animas are amazing!

When you come, write me if you need anything. I'll try to help )

I have a russian friend, and she told me people in Russia think brazilians as "happy people, careless, celebrating carnival all year round, drinking coffee and loving football"

Time to introduce myself:
I'm Rafael, a 22(almost 23)-year-old guy from Rio de Janeiro-Brazil. I study Computer Science(almost finishing).

And the russian stereotype is almost correct in my personality:
Happy People - Yes(I think so)
Careless - A bit. =)
Celebrating Carnival all year round - hmmm... I wish that was right =(
Drinking coffee - I need too, or else I sleep on classes. =(
Loving Football - Yes! Of course! My football team is Vasco da Gama!

My last.fm profile is: http://www.lastfm.com.br/user/rafaellopes

I think that's all. Feel free to ask anything.

Hi out there! My name's Chris and I'm living in Germany, more accurate: Bavaria. I'm a musician myself, playing the violin, the piano, guitars, bass and drums. Mostly I listen to metal, rock, classical music and jazz. So DSO got my attention recently, and I absolutely love the music. It's intense, it's fascinating, awesome and addictive as hell. Keep up the good work, and hopefully we'll get to enjoy more of your great work!

That would be all for now. See you on the forum. =)

Allo, I'm Adam  Smiley

I'm a 22 yr old engineering student from England/Wales, and.. well I'm here cos DSO are awesome!

I play guitar (mostly badly) and enjoy climbing, airsoft, and riding and 'fixing' my motorbike - with DSO blasting away ofc Cheesy
Also like ink and metal.

Mostly into proggy / metal / obscure music, generally anything that sounds like people had fun making it. People think I'm strange, I think they're strange for not seeing the pure genius of Diablo Swing Orchestra  Shocked

I'm trying to tab out some of the songs on guitar atm... but it's not going so great >< I'll try to post up what I can sooner or later  Tongue

Nice to meet you all!

My name is Ana, and for serious business is Ana Calavera. Under this name I have my DeviantArt porfolio.
I am from the Northeast of Mexico. And just found out that DSO is coming to Mexico City (16 hours away from home by bus) this coming July 17!!
I will do my best in order to get my ticket to DSO!

The first album I heard was Butcher's Ballroom and since then LOVING DSO!! Cheesy
Over the internetz, I was looking bands that involve cello, and that's how I found DSO.
It's sound brings fire within me and inspires me to be even more creative, more daring.

A little bit more of me:
From the very beginning of this year, I started doing concert film photography (Black and White). I still need to learn about Color Film Photography.
I know. In many concerts you are not allowed to bring your camera, but I count with ninja skills. Grin
Anyway, would be the AWESOMENESS if I could go to this concert, enjoy it, and achieve great photographs to include in my portfolio and to share among you all.
